This weeks photo hunt was really difficult for me! Not only were the themes difficult for me creatively, but I felt a bit limited in my opportunities to get out and take photos but for a good reason – our household effects shipment arrived! I spent half the week unpacking and setting up our apartment and now with our stuff it is finally feeling a bit more like we really live here.
1. My Passion
I have many passions - photography, scuba diving, travel, climbing... Since I am currently temporarily retired in VA I'm not able to partake in the more expensive of my passions, but climbing I am able to do often and I love it! This weekend we went to Great Falls National Park and did some nice outdoor sport climbing. This is a picture from above the anchor looking at Paul trying to climb a 5.10 crack.
2. Sound of Music
I had to pull this one out of the archives since I really didn’t want to take a picture of my ipod. This picture was taken in early 2009 on a day trip from Amman to the Eastern Desert Castles. Paul is trying his skill on one of the local instruments.
3. Inner Beauty
I originally tried to take a photo just of my eye, but after many attempts I realized it wasn't going to work, so I started experimenting with pictures a bit further away and really liked this distance.
4. Ethereal
I've never taken a close up picture of the moon before, not too bad for my first attempt (handheld too with my big zoom!).
5. Sharp
Nothing about this actual plant is sharp but I was pleased with the depth of field and sharpness I could get from center out. I really want a macro lens!

Wonderful photos! The climbing--terrific! I am particularly impressed with your moon shot! I've only tried a few times, but I can't get anything that fantastic! Stupendous attempt!
