Garden Route Holiday (part 2): Knysna

I didn't want to leave Wilderness, but it was time to move on to our next spot on the Garden Route. We headed east towards Tsitsikamma National Park and on the way drove through Knysna.

Knysna town is built on a large lagoon which opens to the ocean through two headlands, the Knysna Heads. We stopped at the lookout site and did a little hike to see where the ocean feeds the lagoon.

I bet those houses are not cheap!

I was surprised that the majority of buildings in the townships around here are built out of wood and not iron sheets.

After leaving Knysna we continued driving east and drove over the Bloukraans Bridge on the border of Eastern and Western Cape. The third highest bungee jump in the world goes off this bridge - 216 meters (709 feet). We didn't see anyone jumping, and neither Paul nor I had the desire to be that crazy!

After staring death in the face and saying no thanks, we continued our drive to Tsitsikamma. The flowers on the side of the road were beautiful! The drive from Wilderness to Tsitsikamma was very easy, about 2.5 hours with our stop in Knysna. What a great way to do a road trip!

Coming up next - Tsitsikamma National Park!

Piper is so not impressed with picture taking.

But the photos are beautiful! (And so glad you both decided not to jump off that bridge.)
